Welcome to Elena's Personal Fundraising Page
From September 23-27, I am participating in the Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake – SL5K Virtual Challenge in support of Southlake Regional Health Centre – my local hospital! Charlie and I have spent a few more times in the ER and in post-care than we would like to count since moving to Aurora. If you can contribute in any way, please help enable this hospital to care for the 110,000+ patients they serve in York Region! You may not know this, but the hospital was actually built to serve a much smaller population - just 70,000! The region has exploded with new families (like ours) moving up here! Let’s all do our part to ensure it can continue to provide #leadingedgecare
I aim to cover 20km of ground speedwalking over the course of a week and aim to raise $1000 for the cause! I know that 20km doesn't sound like much, but for this out-of-shape and pregnant lady, that's a lot! :) So how about $1 for every kilometre of ground I cover? :)
Did you know that the government does not provide funding for most new or replacement hospital tools and equipment? Everything from basic tools like beds and IV poles to state-of-the-art surgical and diagnostic equipment is funded entirely through community support from people like you and me.
That’s why I’m fundraising – to ensure my hospital has the life-saving tools and equipment in hand to provide the best possible care close to home for my family, friends and neighbours. Please join me in supporting this important cause and help me reach my personal fundraising goal of $1000 by donating today.
I hope I can count on you to follow my progress on social media and cheer me on as I participate in this exciting 5-day kilometre challenge in support of Southlake. Together we can build healthier communities and ensure leading edge care is available close to home for everyone who needs it.
Thanks for your support!
